Between the I-270 commute, long workdays and family schedules, many Marylanders know exactly what they “should” be doing to lose weight. The problem is that knowing has not been enough.
Elevera Health offers medically supervised weight loss to adults throughout Maryland by telehealth. Our founder, nurse practitioner Laura Titchenell, and our team look at the medical side of weight (metabolism, hormones, insulin resistance and more) and build a plan you can actually stick with.
If you have lost weight before only to regain it, or the scale has stopped moving despite real effort, there is usually a biological reason. Your body has powerful systems designed to protect its current weight.
Some of the most common factors we see include:
Hormones like ghrelin, leptin and GLP-1 control hunger and fullness. After dieting, hunger signals often get louder while fullness signals get quieter.
Elevated insulin makes it easier to store fat and harder to burn it. It often develops years before blood sugar looks abnormal on routine labs.
Long hours at a desk or behind the wheel reduce daily movement far more than a workout can make up for.
Perimenopause, menopause and lower testosterone change where the body stores fat and how much muscle it keeps.
Restrictive diets work against your biology. As you eat less, your body responds by:
Medical weight loss takes a different approach: identify what is driving your weight, treat the underlying factors, and use medication only when it is appropriate and safe for you.
You get a real clinician, not a subscription to an app. Plans are personalized from your first visit and adjusted as you progress.
Choose a convenient virtual appointment time that fits your schedule.
Discuss your symptoms, goals, health history, labs and past attempts.
Nutrition and lifestyle guidance, lab review, and medication or hormone options when appropriate.
Regular follow-ups and secure messaging so you are never figuring it out alone.
We also plan for the long term, including how to maintain your results if and when medication is reduced.
Elevera Health is licensed to care for patients in Maryland, and every visit happens online. That means no fighting Beltway traffic for a 15-minute appointment, and no waiting room. You can meet with us from home, your office or anywhere you are in Maryland.
Labs are drawn at a convenient lab near you, and medications are either sent to your local pharmacy or shipped directly to your door.

Yes. Elevera Health is licensed to provide telehealth care to patients located in Maryland, as well as Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC. You need to be physically in one of those states during your visit.
No. All appointments are telehealth visits. Any lab work is done at a lab location near you, and medications are sent to your pharmacy or shipped to your home.
It depends on your health history, current medications, labs and goals. Your provider will discuss whether semaglutide, tirzepatide or another option makes sense, along with possible side effects.
Injections are not the only option. Some patients do well with oral medications, and many make meaningful progress with nutrition, lifestyle and metabolic support alone.
Follow-up frequency depends on your plan. Patients starting medication typically check in more often at first so doses can be adjusted safely, then less often once things are stable.
We are a self-pay practice with transparent pricing. Labs can often be billed to insurance or done at a reduced cash price, and some medications may be filled through your insurance at a local pharmacy.
All visits are by telehealth, from anywhere in Maryland. Book a consultation to talk through your goals and options.
